Inky Paws Challenge #136

Hello readers and welcome back from the weekend!  I hope you found a little time to do something crafty.  For the past five days, I have been on a stay-at-home craft retreat!  Typically during the first week of every November, seven friends and myself rent a large home in Connecticut for an annual craft retreat.  But, due to Covid, we decided it best to forego this year's get together.  Instead my mom and one of my best friend's came to stay at my house with me and we spent the days going for walks, watching Hallmark Christmas movies and doing lots of crafting.  Even though it was in my own home, it was still wonderful and relaxing.  

Well. it's Monday and that means we have a new challenge to share with you at Inky Paws. Challenge #136 is an exciting theme because it's use your FAVORITE Newton's Nook Designs stamp!  Now, we all know it's virtually impossible to pick favorite, so let me tell you why the stamp set I chose is my favorite -  I picked the "Santa Paws" stamp set because it was the very first NND stamp set I purchased, so it holds a special place in my heart.  And hello, it's CATS!

This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2".  Slimline cards are designed to fit into a regular #10 business sized envelope and require no additional postage.  The base of this slimline card was made from Real Red cardstock.  I cut the first 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" mat from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  Using the Slimline Frames and Windows die set, I cut the frame from Real Red cardstock.  I lined the left and right side of the frame with red and white striped paper.  I stamped the sentiment in the center frame using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the three images from the Santa Paws stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black ink on white cardstock and colored the images using Copic markers.  I die cut the images using the coordinating Santa Paws dies and adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.  Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the images for added sparkle.
