Hello readers and happy Friday! Today I'm actually "working" at the Scrapbook Expo in Marlborough, Massachusetts, teaching the make-n-take at the Stamp On It booth, so if you'll be at the show Friday or Saturday please stop by and say hi! You can also follow along on my Instastories and I'll share you with some behind the scenes footage and more of the weekend's rubberstamp and scrapbooking show.
I have been looking for what seems like years for a "perfect" unicorn stamp set and I finally found one that I am happy with. I can't believe I'm actually saying this but I've been very judgy about some of the unicorn stamps sets on the market! I hesitate to admit this, but seriously, some unicorns seemed too angular and squared off, other were kinda overly pudgy (don't hate me!) and a few were just too small for the look I was going for. I feel like Goldilocks looking for the perfect bed. . . This one is too soft, this one is too hard, but, the Unicorn Awesomeness stamp set from Concord & 9th was just right! Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I created a black frame using the Scalloped Stitched Rectangles Nesting dies from Gina Marie Designs out of Basic Black cardstock. I lined the back of this frame with a piece of an acetate sheet in order to create the shaker card. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink directly onto the card base. I sprinkled about a tablespoon of iridescent sequins directly onto the base of the card and then I lined the black frame with 3M foam adhesive to give the frame height and allow for movement of the sequins. Using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders I die cut clouds from Balmy Blue cardstock, Daffodil Delight cardstock and Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I adhered the cloud layers to the outside of the acetate film. I stamped the unicorn in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I adhered the unicorn to the top of the card with 3M foam adhesive and lastly added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the unicorn for added sparkle.
Here is the Unicorn Awesomeness stamp set from Concord & 9th that I used to create today's card:
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great weekend!
XO, Crystal
