It's unofficially official - pumpkin spice season is practically here. . . Don't shush me! I know it's only August, but let's be real, the pharmacies and groceries stores have had Halloween candy on display since the 4th of July! So. . . if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! This past weekend, I pulled out my fall and Halloween stamps and I'm ready for rust hues and spooky boos. Today's card features the "Darling Mum" stamp set by Richard Garay Designs. This is a retiring stamp from the company, but it's so beautiful that I wanted to use it one last time before it goes into the retirement vault. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from Crumb Cake cardstock. Using the Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs, I cut the background from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I stamped the Darling Mum stamp set three times in Versamark ink on watercolor paper. I heat embossed the image with gold embossing powder and then I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Brush markers. After the images dried, I fussy cut each flower out. I stamped the sentiment in rust ink on white cardstock and used an oval punch to punch it out. I adhered the three mums to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, Crystal List of supplies:

Please don't be all confused by the title of today's post. . .Yes, I am very aware that it is the middle of July, which qualifies it as summer, and thus, the title should be "summer mail." But, the name of this stamp set from Richard Garay Designs is called "Spring Mail." And, in my traditional habit of always being behind, today we get spring mail, in the form of a peony filled envelope, in the summer! Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I matted a random scrap piece of black and gold foil paper with Melon Mambo cardstock and adhered both to the center of the card. I stamped the Spring Mail image in Versamark ink onto a piece of watercolor paper and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I colored the image using Zig Watercolor Brush pens. Once the image dried, I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the center of the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I punched out a few extra leaves with a leaf punch and gold glitter paper. I stamped the sentiment "Hello Lovely" in Versamark ink and heat embossed it also in gold embossing powder. I fussy cut the sentiment and adhered it below the envelope and to the right of the card. Lastly, I added a few pink rhinestones for extra sparkle. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of supplies:Hello crafty friends! I am excited to be sharing a new video with you today that I created for the RG Avenue monthly newsletter. This newsletter will be emailed to all RG Avenue subscribers, but I have also put the video on YouTube and will be sharing it here with you today at the end of this post if you would like to learn some simple watercoloring. You can also view my full video tutorial gallery HERE. Card details:*A full supply list is located at the end of this post. The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I cut a piece of 5" x 3 3/4" piece of Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. Using the Layered Scallop stamp set, I stamped half of the scalloped image in Sour Mist ink on the lower half of the white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner also using Sour Mist ink. I splattered the entire image with Sweet Lavender ink. Using Scalloped Stitched Rectangle dies, I cut a piece of Sour Mist cardstock and matted the stamped image to that before adhering both to the card base. I heat embossed the feathers with gold embossing powder and watercolored them with Sour Mist ink, Sweet Pink ink and Sweet Lavender ink. Lastly, I tied a small bow around the card for added texture. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from Sour Mist cardstock. On a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of mixed media paper, I created a watercolor wash background in Sour Mist ink, Sweet Pink ink and Sweet Lavender ink. I splattered the entire background with Sweet Lavender ink. On coordinating cardstock, I stamped the feathers from the Perfectly Blessed stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I fussy cut each flower and adhered it to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I stamped each sentiment below the feather in Black Taffy ink. Here is a YouTube video tutorial that I created showing how you can make these watercolored cards: I have truly begin to enjoy creating video tutorials for you, and I hope YOU are enjoying them. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of supplies:I have recently been trying to expand some of my creative endeavors to include the "messy things." I'm talking about mediums like watercolor, stenciling, pastes and Distress Oxide inks. All of these things typically give me a lot of anxiety, but I am finally (and ever so slowly) beginning to open up and appreciate these arts and embrace each learning experience, all while forgiving the mess! Today I am sharing a variety of watercolored cards using the "Vintage Flower" stamp by Concord and 9th. Card details:*All cards were made nearly identical in layout, I simply varied the color scheme. A full supply list is located at the end of this post. The base of each A2 sized card is made from a solid colored cardstock (Blueberry Bushel, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape). I then cut a frame out of white cardstock using the Papertrey Ink "Mix and Mat: Plaid Die." I stamped the sentiment "Feel Better" on most of the cards in either the corresponding ink color, or I heat embossed it in gold. I stamped the large vintage flower in Versamark ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed some using white embossing powder and others using gold embossing powder to see how different each looked. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to add color to each flower. After each flower was dried, I used the coordinating die to cut each flower out and I adhered the flower to the card using foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a couple randomly placed clear rhinestones to each card for added sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed seeing these cards in a variety of colors! Do you have a favorite? And, do you like to experiment with watercolor or any other "messy" medium?! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of supplies:
I have been experimenting a lot with watercolor recently. Last September I took two classes on watercoloring at the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, California, and I was able to experiment with a variety of different mediums used for watercoloring. We learned about the Kuretake Gansai Watercolor Palette, Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens, Zig Watercolor Clean Brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Crayons. These were great classes for me because I was able to discover certain mediums that I liked (Zig and Spectrum Noir) and others that I didn't thoroughly enjoy (Distress Crayons). For today's "blue-tiful" floral card, I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. These Sparkle pens are just like the Wink of Stella pens that we all love, except in color!

The base of this slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" inches. The base is made from Blue Raspberry cardstock. I cut a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock to mount onto the blue base. I stamped the sentiment in blue ink in the upper right hand corner of this white cardstock before adhering it to the card base. I stamped the large flower from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set in Versamark ink. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder. I die cut the flowers using the Beautiful Flowers die. I colored the large flower with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in blues and green. Once the image dried, I adhered it to the slimline card using foam adhesive. I also punched some extra leaves out of blue and green sparkle paper, that I tucked behind the main image for added sparkle
I hope you have enjoyed today's card. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
