Happy Good Friday, friends! Today I am sharing two simple treat boxes that I created for Easter, though you could change them up to work for any holiday or event. These boxes would be perfect for a small amount of candy, gift cards, jewelry or other little trinkets. They measure approximately 4" x 3" x 2" and were made using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Treat Box and the digital "Oh La La" stamp set from 88 and Clear. Project Details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. To begin, I printed the digital "Oh La La" stamp set onto 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and colored the images with Copic markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut 2 e-cutting machine to electronically cut the images out (in lieu of fussy cutting). One treat box was made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and the other was made from Cotton Candy cardstock. I adhered the boxes together with red line tape for added strength. I embellished the boxes with strips of cardstock, patterned scalloped circles and gingham ribbon. I stuffed a little piece of green tissue paper in the box and filled them with Peanut M & M's. Happy Easter! I hope you have wonderful holiday weekend! XO, CrystalList of supplies:

Hello readers and TGIF! Who's ready for the weekend!? Today I am sharing another new April release product from Whimsy Stamps - the Hexagon Treat Box die. I love creating small gift boxes or treat containers and this new die made that quite simple. The pre-scored lines let you know exactly where to score and fold in order to form the box. Add lots of red-line (or tear tape) to hold the box together and then you can decorate it however you like! I decorated these boxes using the beautiful new Fabulous Florals paper pack and Poppy Flower die, both of these are also new release products from Whimsy Stamps.
These boxes measured approximately 3" wide/round and 1" deep. So, while they wouldn't hold a lot, you could add a few pieces of candy, jewelry or other small gifts. I recommend chocolate. Chocolate is always a good idea.
Sometimes I'm still amazed at what we can create out of paper.
Thanks for visiting and keep creating beautiful things! XO, CrystalList of supplies:
Cats and candy! Can today get any better?! Okay, maybe if it were Friday already. . . Today I am sharing these M & M filled pillow box treats that I'll be giving to my friends at our upcoming annual craft retreat to the Cape. As our own little tradition, everyone attending (there are 8 of us in total) makes something small to give the others in the group. Sometimes it is a papercrafted item, but it doesn't have to be. In past years, there have also been small jars of homemade jelly and maple syrup, knitted hats, socks and embroidered tote bags! I'm lucky to have such talented and generous friends and family.
Project details:
*A full supply list (with shopping links) is located at the end of this post.
The base of the pillow box is made from 110# kraft cardstock. You will want to use a nice, thick cardstock as your base to ensure a sturdy box. First, I die cut a heart on one side of the pillow box and lined the inside with a piece of acetate. This will ensure nothing falls out of the hole! While the box is still flat (before assembly) I stamped the paw prints on both sides of the box in kraft ink. I also stamped the hearts in red ink. I assembled the two sides of the box using tear tape. You will want to use a good adhesive here like the tear tape (or red line tape) to ensure the box holds together well.
I filled the boxes with both plain and peanut M & M's. To each box I added a sentiment that was stamped in red ink on Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I notched the right edge of the sentiment strip. I die cut a large heart from red cardstock and a small heart from gold glimmer cardstock. I also stamped a variety of cats from the Newton's Nook Newton Loves Boxes and Newton's Antics stamp sets in Memento Tuxedo black ink. I colored the cat images with Copic markers and then adhered all of the pieces together on the outside of each pillow box with foam adhesive for added height and dimension.
I love using the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box die for small treats because of it's easy assembly. Some of those dies can be very challenging! Plus, it can be filled with so many different things from candy and gift cards to jewelry and more.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, Crystal
List of supplies:
Happy Tuesday readers! I returned yesterday from a 3-day craft retreat in Connecticut with my mom and several friends. Today I am sharing another one of the little treats I made for everyone. As I mentioned last week, it's become a bit of a tradition that when we attend a retreat, we each make little gifts for everyone else attending. It doesn't necessarily have to be paper-crafted either. We have some knitters in our group who have knitted hats, and this year my mom made jam for everyone! Fortunately, it is a small group of six, so it doesn't entail copious amount of work or supplies. It's simply for the fun of it. On the first day of the retreat I gave everyone these hot cocoa treat holders, and on Day 3 I left these these "turkey treats" filled with candy on everyone's table.
Project details:
These Lawn Fawn Fancy Box dies were cut from Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I adhered a small 3 1/4" 2 1/2" piece of acetate to the underside of the box window before adhering the entire box together with tear tape. I stamped the sentiment in Crushed Curry ink on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and notched the right end. The turkey was made using the Patchwork Turkey die by Impression Obsession. I cut the body of the turkey from Early Espresso and Crumb Cake cardstock. The nose, legs and hearts were cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The turkey feathers were made from miscellaneous scrap papers. I drew on his eyes with a black Sharpie marker. *Note, I realized AFTER I made my turkeys that the orange hearts should have been his wings! Oops!!
Here is the Lawn Fawn Fancy Box die I used to create today's treat holders:
I have been loving the simplicity of dies to create treat holders with. I was able to put together both the Lawn Fawn Fancy Box and Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag dies without instruction, so that shows how easy they are to assemble!
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, Crystal
