I don't know about you, but I need a break from all things Valentine's Day! I feel as though I have been sharing a lot of ideas lately that have incorporated love, hearts, roses and more, but enough already! Today we are going to talk about another popular ailment this time of year - the dreaded flu! Knock on wood, I haven't been sick yet this winter, but it's coming, this I know! Until then, I will keep sanitizing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g in sight and prepare some get well cards in advance.

This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". The base of this card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I lined the card base with a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of pale pink cardstock. I then lined this pale pink cardstock with a sheet of gray gingham paper from the Lawn Fawn Gotta Have Gingham paper pack. Using the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Scallop Die, I cut the frame from gray cardstock. Using gray ink, I stamped various sentiments like "germs" and "got soup" around the gray frame. These sentiments are available with the Whimsy Stamps Get Well stamp set. I stamped the three animals (pig, chicken and cat) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White Smooth paper. I used my Scan & Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut the images out instead of fussy cutting them.
I colored the images with Copic markers and added a few highlights to each image using a white Uniball gel pen. I added the images to the card using foam adhesive for added height and dimension. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to all three images for added sparkle.
Now that I've been sharing a lot of these slimline cards, I'm curious if YOU have tried to make one yet?!
Thanks for visiting and happy creating!

Today I am excited to share with you a new release from Whimsy Stamps called "Voo Doo Too." I have always had a particular interest in the Louisiana Vodou culture after visiting New Orleans many years ago. While Hollywood has given us the perception of this demonic, malevolent culture, it is a history rooted rich in slavery and cultural traditions. While commonly associated with death and ill will, the voo doo doll can also offer magical healing properties. Today these creepy-cute guys are offering nothing but love for you!

The base of this slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". The base is made from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. Using the Slimline Windows die from Whimsy Stamps, I created the frame from gray cardstock. Behind the gray frame, I lined the background with a miscellaneous piece of lime green lined designer paper. In between some of the frames I stamped the "Voo Doo Too" sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the voo doo doll images in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored them with Copic markers. I added some highlights to the colored images using a white Uniball gel pen. I used my Scan and Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut the images out. I adhered the images to the card using foam adhesive. Lastly, I punched a few small hearts from red cardstock and floated them around the card, also using foam adhesive for added height.
I hope you like these mildly creepy cuties! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!

As per my usual, I am late to creating this New Year's celebration card, but honestly this time it's not my fault! I never received this fun 2020 Uni stamp set from RG Avenue until last weekend. But, it is so darn adorable that I couldn't wait to create with it regardless if it's January 9th or not. Technically, it is still the New Year! But, this stamp set could also work for birthdays, if you just didn't use the little unicorns with the "2020" or "Happy New Year" banners.

This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". The base is cut from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Slimline Windows die from Whimsy Stamps, I cut the frame from purple cardstock. I lined the back of the frame with a piece of purple lined paper from the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow paper pack. Because this is a digital stamp, I printed the sheet image on Neenah White Solar Smooth cardstock and colored the images with Copic markers. I then ran the image sheet through my Scan and Cut 2 which cut the images out for me. I adhered the images to the card using foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat for added sparkle.

Hello crafty readers! Today I am excited to be sharing the first card I made using some really fun products from Whimsy Stamps. I credit my friend Candice for being the one who introduced me to making slimline cards, and ever since I discovered this larger canvas to work on, I have been hooked! This is just one of the reasons I love Whimsy Stamps - because they are now offering slimline dies. P.S. -I'll share another reason soon! For today's card I have used the Slimline Postage Die and the fun and slightly sassy gingerbread men from the GingerSnaps stamp set.

The base of this 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. The first
8 1/4" x 3 1/4" matted layer is a piece of kraft cardstock. I cut the Postage Slimline Die from red cardstock. I lined the back of the Postage Slimline die with a scrap piece of plaid designer paper. I stamped all of the gingerbread men in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I colored all of the images with Copic markers. I used my Scan & Cut to cut the images out. I adhered the gingerbread men to the card with foam adhesive for added dimension. I stamped several of the sentiments in Versafine CLAIR Pinecone ink on white cardstock and notched both ends before adhering them to the card also with foam adhesive. I added in a couple red candy mints (stamped in Versafine CLAIR Tulip Red ink) and candy canes to fill in the spaces between the gingerbread men. Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the images for added sparkle.
I hope you have enjoyed today's funny holiday themed card. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
