Inky Paws Challenge #126

Hello readers and welcome back from the weekend!  I hope you found a little time to do something crafty.  Today I am sharing another card that I made for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #126.  This week we have a sketch challenge to inspire you.  Our challenges run for two weeks, thereby giving you more time to create, so I have designed a second card to share with you this week that was still inspired by the same image seen below:
Picture
Here is the fun London themed shaker card I created inspired by this week's sketch:
Picture

Card details:

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock.  I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of white cardstock and matted this on top of a piece of Pacific Point blue cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner in Real Red ink. I cut a piece of plaid paper and adhered it to the bottom third of the card.  I also cut a strip of Real Red cardstock and stamped "I (heart) London" over it in red ink before adhering it to the card.  I created a shaker circle using the Circle Frame dies and filled the shaker with iridescent sequins.  I stamped the London Tower, the bus and the Newton's umbrella images from the Newton Dreams of London stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the images with Copic markers and die cut them using the coordinating Newton Dreams of London dies.  I adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.

Let's Venti

6/17/2020

Last week three of my girlfriend's and I got together outside for our first socially-distanced happy hour and it was such a nice break from everything that has been going on and a chance to catch up after months of text messages only.  It was a BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) evening where you had to bring your own lawn chair, drink and snacks, so that we didn't have to share anything.  Despite the extra bit of planning, it worked out just fine and it was our time to "venti" with the girls!  Okay, in full disclosure, there may have been less "venti" and more "wine-y," but whatever. . .

Today's "Let's Venti" card features the fun new "Cool Beans" stamp set by Whimsy Stamps.
Picture

Card details:

*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post.

The base of this A2 sized shaker card is made from white cardstock.  Using the Whimsy Stamps Peekabook Window 1 die, I cut the first layer from Crumb Cake cardstock.  Using Crumb Cake ink, I stamped coffee beans all of the background.  I lined the back of the frame with acetate film and lined all the edges with foam strips.  I placed about two tablespoons of pink and iridescent sequins behind the frame before securing it down.  I stamped the sentiment "let's venti" in Versamark ink in the lower right corner and heat embossed it with white embossign powder.  I stamped the coffee images in Memento Tuxedo black ink on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers.  I used my Scan and Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut all of the images out (in lieu of fussy cutting).  I adhered the images to the card with 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.  Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the coffee cups for added sparkle.

Hello readers and thanks for visiting!  If you are new here, welcome!  I hope you find creativity and inspiration as you look around.  If you are a regular follower of mine, thank you for your continued support and I hope you keep returning here for that same creativity and inspiration.
Today I am sharing two shaker cards created using the beautiful Heart and Soul stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio.  This is only the second stamp set that I own by Pinkfresh Studio and I have had it sitting in my craft room for longer than I care to admit!  Thanks to Covid-19, and being on a reduced schedule at work, I am finding far more time to craft than usual and I have so much to share!

Card details:

*A full supply list is located at the end of this post.

Both of these A2 sized cards were made the same way simply using a different color scheme.  The base of this card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I cut a frame from Pretty Peacock cardstock using the Reverse Scallop Rectangle frames.  I lined the back of the frame with a sheet of acetate.  Then I lined the back of the frame with thin strips of 3M foam adhesive for a raised frame that sequins can fit under. I stamped the sentiment in the center of the white base cardstock in either Pretty Peacock or Gorgeous Grape ink.  I added about two tablespoons of sequins before adhering the frame on top. On a separate sheet of Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock, I stamped the large floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I die cut the image using the coordinating Heart and Soul die cuts.  I adhered the image directly to the cardstock with 3M foam adhesive.  Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle.

Inky Paws Challenge #121

Hello friends and happy Monday!  I hope you all had a nice weekend, most likely doing the same ol', same ol' now!  I am excited to be sharing my card for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge today.  I frequently hear from friends and fellow stampers that they aren't creative enough to design something on their own, or that they don't know what colors to use.  They feel frustrated before they even begin because they don't know where to begin.  I understand!  Yes, I've been there too!  That's the concept behind a card challenge.  It can help to inspire you and get the creative juices flowing by giving you a place to start.  Challenge #121 by Newton's Nook is a theme challenge.  Let the image below be your inspiration for creating a card (or scrapbook page) and see where this challenge takes you!
Picture
I created a shaker birthday card for this challenge using the Newton's Nook Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and a colorful background of Distress Oxide inks.  I don't typically use Distress Oxide inks because they are, 1) messy and, 2) out of my comfort zone.  But, I'm pretty sure if there was ever a time to be out of your comfort zone, the months of March and April 2020 are it!
Picture

Card details:

*A full supply list is located at the end of this post.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Classic Crest cardstock.  On a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock I created the distressed background.  I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet and Ripened Raspberry.  Then I stamped little paws in Wilted Violet ink.  I cut a piece of grass using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside die and splattered that with Twisted Citron ink.  I created the balloon shaker using the Newton's Nook Balloon Shaker die set.  I stamped the sentiment inside the balloon in purple ink and filled the balloon with iridescent sequins and a die cut green bow.
Picture
I stamped two of the French bulldogs (and two party hats) in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers.  I die cut the bulldogs and party hats using the coordinating Fabulous Frenchies die set.  I adhered the bulldogs to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of turquoise cardstock and adhered it directly to the card base.  To create the shaker frame, I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of white cardstock and die cut a semi circle in the center middle.  I lined the back of the frame with a solid piece of 3" x 3" white cardstock that I stamped "cheers" on in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I lined the back of the frame with acetate and lined the edges with foam adhesive to keep the sequins in.  I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner using a turquoise ink. I stamped all of the drink images from the Newton's Nook "Cocktail Mixer" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black on white cardstock.  I colored the images with Copic markers and used the coordinating "Cocktail Mixer" dies to cut them out.  I placed a thin strip of silver glimmer paper at the bottom of the card to "ground" the drinks and then I adhered the drinks using foam adhesive for added dimension.

Card details:

*Full supply list (with shopping links) is located at the end of this post.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of miscellaneous blue patterned and adhered it directly to the card base.  Using the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame #2 die, I cut the frame from blue cardstock.  I lined the back of the frame with a piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  On this lining, I stamped the sentiment in red ink and a couple snowflakes in light blue ink.  I then made a small shaker card component out of the small bottom piece of the frame.  I filled the shaker with icy glitter.  I stamped the snowman from the Frozen Friends stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and then I fussy cut the snowmen out with small craft scissors.  I added a little color to the snowmen with Copic markers.  I placed a thin strip of red cardstock below the snowmen to ground them and to separate them from the shaker component.  Lastly, I added a small bow from white glitter twine to the left side of the card.

Hello friends and happy Monday!  I am excited to be joining the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge Team with my first challenge of this decade! Challenge #114 by Newton's Nook is a sketch challenge.  Let the sketch below be your inspiration for creating a card (or scrapbook page) and see where this challenge takes you!

Here is what I created inspired by this challenge sketch:

Card details:

*Full supply list at end of post.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of red plaid paper (from a retired Echo Park paper series) and adhered it directly to the card base.  Using the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame #2 die, I cut the frame from red cardstock.  I lined the back of the frame with a piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  On this lining, I stamped the sentiment in red ink and a couple hearts in craft ink.  I then made a small shaker card component out of the small bottom piece of the frame.  I filled the shaker with small 1/2" hearts punched out from red and kraft colored cardstock.  I stamped the cats from the Newton's Sweetheart stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and then die cut the cats using the coordinating Newton's Sweetheart dies.  I colored the cats with Copic markers and added a few small highlights using a Uniball white gel pen.  I added the cats to the card using foam adhesive for added dimension.  Lastly, I add a small bow to the left side of the frame made from linen thread.

Mice On Ice

12/18/2019

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing this multiple interactive card on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog.  I put off purchasing this adorable "Mice On Ice" stamp set for as long as I possibly could, but in a war between my wallet and Lawn Fawn products, my wallet loses. Nearly every single time!  I added three different interactive components all on this one A2 sized card.  The bottom left corner is a shaker, the top left mice are on Mini Action Wobbles and the mice on the top right are only visible when you lift the flap.
Picture

Card details:

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  Using the Lawn Fawn Peekaboo Backdrop Lawn Cuts, I cut the frame from raspberry cardstock.  On the top upper right corner, I added a lift the flap die to the frame.  I stamped the sentiment in raspberry ink.  I stamped all of the mice images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I colored the images with Copic markers and then used the coordinating Mice on Ice Lawn Cuts to die cut the images out.  On the lower right side of the card, I lined the frame with a small piece of pink plaid cardstock from the Sunny Studios Classic Gingham 6 x 6" paper pack. I then handcut a white snowbank to fill the square and added two mice with foam adhesive.
Picture
On the upper left side of the card, I lined the frame again with a small piece of pink plaid cardstock from the Sunny Studios Classic Gingham 6 x 6" paper pack. I then handcut a white snowbank to fill the square and added two mice with this time on a Mini Action Wobble Spring, so that when you touch them they jiggle, or wobble.
Picture
Picture
Picture
In the lower left corner of the card, I created a mini shaker.  I lined the back of the rectangle with a piece of acetate film.  I placed approximately one tablespoon of Iridescent Diamond Dust behind the frame and layered the frame with foam adhesive to give the Iridescent Diamond Dust room to move when you shake it.  I added two more little skating mice on top of the shaker and the word "happy" which I stamped in raspberry ink and cut with the coordinating Mice on Ice Lawn Cuts dies.
Picture
I hope you have enjoyed this very interactive card!  It was a lot of fun to conceptualize and create.
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!

Cozy Christmas

12/9/2019

Hello friends and welcome back from the weekend!  Today I have three cards to share with you that were all created from the Cozy Christmas digital stamp set by RG Avenue.  This was an exclusive free digital stamp offered as a Black Friday special if you purchased $50 worth of products.  I wanted to show you the various ways you can use that set with today's cards.  I chose a modern color palette in pink, red, aqua and kraft to keep these cards fresh, fun and cohesive.
Picture
Picture

Card details:

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Sweet Cane sugar stock.  I heat embossed white ink splatter onto the base of the card using Versamark ink and white embossing poweder. Using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangles, I die cut a rectangle from Neenah White Solar Smooth cardstock.  I also cut a rectangle using the same dies from the "Ho, Ho, Ho" patterned paper.  I cut each rectangle in half using only the white cardstock on the top and the "Ho, Ho, Ho" paper on the bottom half of the card.  I die cut a pink circle using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Circle Dies.  I tied a ribbon around the middle of the card before adhering the circle die cut.  I colored the deer from the Cozy Christmas digital stamp set using Copic markers and then cut it out using my Scan & Cut machine.  Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to the deer for added sparkle.

The base of this A2 sized card is made from Sugar Cane cardstock.  Using the Gina Marie Designs Stitched Rectangle dies, I die cut a piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and a piece of chevron patterned DSP.  I only used the top half of the white paper and the bottom half of the chevron.  I die cut a wreath from Pool Party cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card.  I colored the deer and the two ornaments hanging from the antlers from the Cozy Christmas digital stamp set using Copic markers and then cut it out using my Scan & Cut machine.  Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to the deer for added sparkle.

To create this A2 sized shaker card, I began with a base of Blushing Bride cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of aqua polka dotted paper for behind the shaker card.  I cut an additional 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock for the shaker frame.  I used a semi circle die to cut the hole in the white cardstock and lined the back with acetate film.  I put about one tablespoon of iridescent sequins behind the shaker frame.  I colored the sweets, gingerbread house, coffee and candy canes from the Cozy Christmas digital stamp set using Copic markers and then cut it out using my Scan & Cut machine.  I adhered these images to the bottmo of the semi-circle using foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to the images for added sparkle.

Snow Angels

11/13/2019

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Today I am sharing this shaker card over on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog.  This card really brings me back to my childhood and the very cold and snowy winters we had growing up in northern Maine.  While all of my brothers wanted to have snowball fights (usually filled with ice, might I add)! I wanted to make pretty snow angels.  I only wish I had all of these adorable woodland creatures to play with back then!
Picture

Card details:

The base of this A2 sized card is made from red cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of white cardstock and stamped the outline of the snow angels in a dark brown ink.  I placed this directly on the red card base.  Next, I created the frame from a dark brown cardstock using two rectangle dies.  I adhered a piece of Hero Arts clear acetate to the back of the frame.  I lined the frame with foam adhesive so that it would allow plenty of space for the glitter to shake around inside.

I placed approximately two tablespoons of Avery Elle Coarse Glitter directly onto the white cardstock and adhered the shaker frame on top.  I stamped the bunny, fox and bear from the Snow Angels stamp set on white cardstock and colored the images using my Copic markers.  I die cut the animals with the coordinating Snow Angels Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant and then I adhered the animals to the outside of the shaker frame using more foam adhesive.
Picture
I stamped the sentiment "snow much love" in Versamark ink on red cardstock and heat embossed it with Lawn Fawn white embossing powder.  I notched both ends before adhering the sentiment strip on the outside of the shaker frame.  Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the animals to give them added sparkle.
Picture
Shaker cards are probably one of my favorite cards to make and the glitter inside this one really looks like fluffy snow! Thanks for visiting and remember to shop the AMAZING clearance sale going on right now at Butterfly Reflections, Ink!
