Hello readers! Today I am on the Joy Clair Designs blog sharing my first floral card that was inspired by this month's mood board. Today's card also uses the new Count Me In digital stamp set which is part of the Springish Fiesta collection. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. This is my go-to cardstock for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! I use it for ink blending, stamping, die cutting, distress oxides, stencils, card bases, and printing digital images. I printed the beautiful floral image from the Count Me In digital stamp set onto this Neenah White cardstock. I also manipulated the sentiment "with deepest sympathy" so that it would fit inside the center. I colored the flowers using this month's mood board colors. I printed the image and then fussy cut around the entire floral border. I then cut a black wide strip of cardstock to mount behind the sentiment to make that sentiment "pop." Lastly, I added a clear coat of Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. Here is the March mood board from Joy Clair Designs that inspired today's card: Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! Today I am so excited because we are leaving for our annual girl's crafting trip to the Cape! Eight of us women get together and rent an entire house directly on the beach on Cape Cod, and we do nothing but craft for the entire week. It is heavenly! We missed last year due to Covid, so we are extra excited for this year's adventure. Be sure to follow along on Instagram to see all the fun! I have a little Valentine's Day themed inspiration to share with you using the Full Heart digital stamp set from Joy Clair Designs: Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. This is my go-to cardstock for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! I buy it in bulk because I use it up so quickly. I used a scalloped frame die to cut the first base layer also from white cardstock . Using the Full Heart digital stamp set, I printed the images onto Neenah white cardstock. I printed the images twice because I knew I wanted to use two of the floral hearts as the centerpiece of my design. I colored the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut each heart. This card was inspired by the February mood board at Joy Clair Designs: Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative week! Let's take a look at the February 2022 Joy Clair Designs mood board: This month's mood board honors Valentine's Day, (aka the Hallmark season of love) in all its many forms. But, don't limit yourself to just mushy-gushy looooooove, you can create for any season, holiday or occasion simply by using these colors to inspire you. Here are two cards that I created inspired by this month's colors: Card details:The base of both of these A2 sized cards was made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Gina Marie Designs leaf background die, I die cut both backgrounds and adhered them to the card base. I printed out the Mandala Love digital stamp onto the 80 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored two of the mandalas using Copic makers. I fussy cut the mandala out and adhered them to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I printed out the digital sentiment and adhered them to the lower 1/3 oof the card. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the mandala for added sparkles and a few red rhinestones for extra dimension. Hello crafty readers and happy 1st of September! The Design Team at Joy Clair Designs is excited to announce that we will be starting a monthly mood board to help inspire YOU to create. Mood boards (also commonly called "inspiration" boards) are a combination of colors, images, textures and patterns that can offer guidance or direction. If you feel like you don't know where to begin a project, try looking at a mood board and let the creative juices flow. You might just be surprised by the end result! Let's take a look at the September 2021 Joy Clair Designs mood board: This month's mood board is a slightly non-traditional take on some fall colors, but isn't it just beautiful? Think teal, mint, blush, gold and white! It's so modern and feminine. Here is a card that I created inspired by this month's mood board palette: Card details:The base of this A2 sized card was made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. On a separate sheet of 5 1/4" x 4" of white cardstock, I stamped the long row of leaves from the Fall Greetings stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black ink. I colored the leaves using Copic markers G000, R20 and BG75. I cut this paper in half and on the bottom half of the cardstock, I stamped the sentiment "sending love" from the Fall Greetings stamp set in Versamark ink. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. I then set these two stamped and colored pieces aside. I cut 1/4" strips of cardstock in the following colors: I placed the strips at a slightly diagonal angle on the cardstock base. Using 3M adhesive I placed the two stamped image layers directly over the colored strips. I added two 1/4" strips of gold glitter paper along the top and bottom edge. Lastly, I added a couple clear rhinestone bubbles for added texture. I am SO in love with this color palette and can't wait to design more cards using these colors! We would love to see YOU create using this mood board as inspiration too! Feel free to use similar colors in whatever brand of cardstock you have readily available. Hello readers and happy Friday! Yay for the weekend! Today I have a card to share with you that is WAY outside of my color comfort zone! Each month, one of my fellow DT members creates a mood board for the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog and it is designed to help inspire you to create. Perhaps you are inspired by the colors and textures or the patterns and the images. A mood board is simply a starting place to build from. This month Davina from Popsicle Creates is also so graciously offering (at her own expense) a $20 gift certificate to the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store! All you have to do is make a card inspired by the mood board (see below) and enter your card on her website link-in. One lucky winner will be chosen at random at the end of the month.
At first I was very skeptical about these colors - salmon, curry, mint and teal. Yikes! Green and yellow together? Meh. I don't know about this! But, as I got to coloring this fall wreath below, I LOVE it!
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Crumb Cake cardstock. Using the Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies, I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock for my first mat. On a separate sheet of white cardstock, I stamped both wreaths and extra pumpkins and mushrooms from the Fall Foliage stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored in the images with Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers and began to arrange them into an oval patterns on the card. Once I had the placement of the images into a layout I was content with, I adhered the colored images to the card with 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I heat embossed the sentiment in the middle of the card with gold embossing powder. Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the colored images for added sparkle.
Here is the beautiful new Fall Foliage stamp set (with coordinating dies) from Avery Elle:
I am still so pleasantly surprised that I ended up loving the colors of this mood board. Now I want to create this card in ALL the colors! Thanks, Davina, for inspiring me to step outside of the box.
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend! XO, Crystal
