Hello crafty friends and happy April! This is Joy Clair Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today sharing a card that I created inspired by this month's beautiful mood board colors. First, let's take a look at the April mood board: Swoooooon! This month's magical dreamy board is made up of all my favorite things - from the pinks, purples and fuchsia colors to the tulips, marble, macarons and YES to whatever is in that pretty looking pink drink! I envision lots more creations this month inspired by this color palette, but here is the first card I created: Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of black cardstock. I stamped a plaid printed background stamp on this black cardstock with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I LOVE a black-on-black background and they especially make for powerful backgrounds against brighter floral images. I die cut a large scalloped oval from white cardstock and adhered this to the center of the card. I printed the lilies from the Refresh the Soul digital stamp. I enlarged the lilies to 5" x 2 3/4". I colored the lilies with Copic markers and then I fussy cut the images out by hand. I adhered the lily on the right directly to the card. I adhered the second lily slightly on top of the first lily, but used 3M foam adhesive to make this flower pop. I also printed the sentiment "happy birthday" on the Neenah White cardstock and then punched it out using a scalloped oval punch. I adhered the sentiment to the bottom right of the card using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a couple pink rhinestones to the card for extra sparkle. I hope you love this beautiful color palette as much as I do! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! Hello Joy Clair Designs friends! This is Design Team member Crystal Komara here with you today ready to celebrate spring. Okay, so it's only March and we are just two days into spring, and it's 45 degrees outside, BUT, the daffodils sprouting up in my yard (through the snow) are that promise that spring IS coming. . . eventually. . . Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. Using a lattice frame die, I cut the first layer also from white cardstock. I printed out the daffodils from the You Are Loved digital stamp set (part of the Springish Fiesta collection) onto this same Neenah cardstock. I printed both daffodils at 4" x 2 3/4". I colored the daffodils using Copic markers and then fussy cut the flowers by hand. I adhered the flowers to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I also printed the sentiment "know that you are loved" from the same You Are Loved digital stamp set. I punched out the sentiment with an oval punch and adhered it to the top left of the card using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. I hope that wherever you live spring is on its way soon too! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! Here is the card I created for the hop featuring the new Rose Bunch Contour Layers: Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Pinpoint Radial Plate, I die cut the first layer from black cardstock. Using the Rose Bunch Contour Layering die, I die cut the three layers from three different colored yellow cardstock using the Sunny Orange 6 x 6" paper pad. Below I'll show more details photos from how I die cut the layers: I'll be completely honest that while lining up the layers was easy enough, it did take a good amount of time and a fair amount of patience. Admittedly, patience in intricate things is NOT my strong suit, so it was a learning curve for me. *I also found that a fine-tip liquid glue held the layers together well, although my tip for the future would be to use adhesive lined cardstock for easier assembly. Using the Dainty Rose and Leaves Contour die, I die cut the leaves only using the Lush Green 6 x 6" paper pack. I adhered the leaves behind the roses. I adhered the roses to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment "thinking of you" in yellow ink on a piece of white cardstock. The sentiment is from the Contempo Greetings stamp set and it also has a coordinating die. I adhered the sentiment using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Guidelines:

Today I am on the Joy Clair Designs blog and it's all about pink! I love the color pink (and purple too!) and today I'm sharing this pinkspiring card using the beautiful Truly Inspire digital stamp set from the Springish Fiesta collection. Joy Clair Designs has some beautiful digital floral stamps and after almost 22 years of cardmaking, floral images still remain my favorite designs. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I used a piece of pink pre-printed watercolor paper for the first 5 1/4" x 4" layered mat. Using a background plate die, I cut the frame from Neenah white cardstock. I printed the flowers from the Truly Inspire digital stamp set in two sizes. I printed one large flower at 3 1/2" x 3" and the other three flowers at 2 1/2" x 2". I colored the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut the flowers by hand to adhere to the card. After fussy cutting the flowers I adhered them to the left side of the card. I adhered the large flowers directly to the mat and then I used 3M foam adhesive to adhere the three small flowers and give them added dimension. I printed the sentiment "you are an inspiration" from the same Truly Inspire digital stamp set. I printed this sentiment also on Neenah white cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment down to a thin strip and notched the left edge. I adhered the sentiment to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to all the flowers for added sparkle. Lastly, I added a couple clear self-adhesive raindrops to the flowers to make it look like dew. I hope you have enjoyed this very pink card design. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! Today I am sharing another way to use the Adornment Peony dies from Birch Press Design. Last week on Valentine's Day, I shared this very traditional card and today I chose to create a very different look using alcohol inks as the focal point behind the outline dies. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using Layer Plate B of the Flora Layering set, I die cut this layer from white cardstock and adhered it to the base of the card. For the alcohol ink peony: On a 4" x 6" piece of Yupo Paper, I added drops of raspberry and sherbet alcohol inks and blew the ink around. Then I added drops of lime and citrus alcohol ink. Once this dried, I used the base shadow layer of the Adornment Peony dies to die cut the base out. On white cardstock, I die cut the top layer of the Adornment Peony (notice the white shadow outline around the flowers). I adhered this thin outline die using a fine tip liquid glue. I adhered the peonies to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly I stamped the sentiment "happy birthday" in pink ink on white cardstock. This sentiment is from the Contempo Greetings stamp set. I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating Contempo Greetings dies. I adhered the sentiment to the lower left corner also using 3M foam adhesive for added height. I hope you have enjoyed today's card! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalHello readers! Today I am on the Joy Clair Designs blog sharing my first floral card that was inspired by this month's mood board. Today's card also uses the new Count Me In digital stamp set which is part of the Springish Fiesta collection. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. This is my go-to cardstock for e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! I use it for ink blending, stamping, die cutting, distress oxides, stencils, card bases, and printing digital images. I printed the beautiful floral image from the Count Me In digital stamp set onto this Neenah White cardstock. I also manipulated the sentiment "with deepest sympathy" so that it would fit inside the center. I colored the flowers using this month's mood board colors. I printed the image and then fussy cut around the entire floral border. I then cut a black wide strip of cardstock to mount behind the sentiment to make that sentiment "pop." Lastly, I added a clear coat of Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. Here is the March mood board from Joy Clair Designs that inspired today's card: Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! Today I'm so excited to be sharing my first card using the beautiful new Truly Inspire digital stamp set from the latest release at Joy Clair Designs. Floral stamps are one of my favorites products to create with. I think it's because there is so much freedom in color - roses and carnations can be red or yellow or pink or even blue. Flowers also work for e-v-e-r-y occasion, happy or sad, good or bad, birthdays to funerals. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using an A2 lattice die from Gina Marie Designs, I also die cut the first matted layer from white cardstock. I printed out the flowers from the Truly Inspire digital stamp set (one increased to 60% and the other decreased to 30%). I printed these digital stamps on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I colored the flowers using Copic markers and then fussy cut each flower. I adhered both flowers to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I cut the sentiment strip, notching the left side and adhered it over the flowers in the center of the card. I like that this card is simple and elegant at the same time. It could also be used for so many different occasions. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! I hope your New Year is off to a good start. Today I have a simple and subtle card to share with you using a variety of cacti images from the My Succulents digital stamp set. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I pulled a piece of beige patterned paper from my scraps pile and cut it to 5 1/4" x 4". It kind of resembles wallpaper to me! I die cut a picture frame from white cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card at a slight angle. I printed four of the cacti images from the My Succulents digital stamp set and colored the images using Copic markers. I fussy cut all four images out and then adhered them to the picture frame using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I stamped "hello my friend" in kraft ink on a thin strip of white cardstock and adhered it to the card. I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the images for added sparkle. Lastly, I added a couple of self-adhesive clear stones to the card that resemble water droplets. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! For more inspiration, you can follow me on Instagram, Facebook and on my YouTube channel. XO, CrystalHello friends! Today I'm sharing this pretty in pink card using the beautiful floral bouquet from the On Your Special Day digital stamp set from Joy Clair Designs. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of black cardstock for the first layer. I stamped a burlap background stamp in Versamark ink on the black cardstock and then heat embossed it with black embossing powder for a black-on-black or tone-on-tone look. I LOVE creating black backgrounds like this, especially for bright floral images, it really makes them POP! I printed out the bouquet twice from the On Your Special Day digital stamp set. I colored the image with Copic markers and then spent a lot of time fussy cutting! I adhered the flowers to the front of the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I printed out the sentiment on white cardstock and adhered it over the flowers. I added a couple clear drops that resemble water drops. Lastly, I added a layer of clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed today's card! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalHello readers! Today I am on the Joy Clair Designs blog sharing some sympathy card ideas using the beautiful floral prism from the To You digital stamp set. Ugh, I have to begin by saying I've used up far too many sympathy cards from my supply last year and it pains me to even think of needing to make more. But. . . here we are. I find sympathy cards rather challenging to make and try to keep them simple and elegant. One of my favorite ways to create elegance for any card is by black-on-black heat embossing. All of these three cards were created using the same layout and colors, I simply changed the color of the flower in the prism to have a slight variation. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using a piece of black cardstock, I die cut a scalloped rectangle frame and then stamped a leaf image in Versamark ink. You could really use any sort of large stamp for this background. I heat embossed the image with black embossing powder for a black-on-black or tone-on-tone look. I printed out the large prism from the To You digital stamp set and enlarged it to 5" x 3". I fussy cut the prism and colored the flower using Copic markers. I adhered the prism to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I then stamped the sentiment "with sympathy" in Memento Tuxedo black ink on white cardstock and fussy cut around the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment to the prism with a Tombow adhesive runner.
