Hello readers! Welcome back to a more regular posting schedule here now that the holidays are over and things are slowly returning to normal again as we usher in the start of new year. I always look forward to a fresh start each January and I hope you are too! Today I am sharing a llama themed box card made from the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up. This is my go-to die for creating box cards. You can see this Halloween card in a box I made with it here, or my Grandpa's special 90th birthday pop-up card. This die really allows for lots of elements to be added in order to achieve the ultimate WOW factor. Card details:The base of this box card was made using Sweet Cane sugar stock. I lined the backside of the card with white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Black Taffy sugar cube on the backside of the box card. The side layers were cut from Rich Cactus sugar stock which was mounted behind a yellow polka dot cardstock. Because this is a digital stamp set, I printed all of the images from my computer onto Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. *To learn more about digital stamping, please read here. I colored in all of the printed images using Copic markers and added highlights to some of the images using a white Uniball gel pen. I added some grass to the card using the Whimsy Stamps Grass and Cloud Edger dies. I cut the grass from Rich Cactus sugar stock. Then I began to adhere the images to the card using foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to some of the images for added sparkle. Here is the Llamazing You stamp set from RG Avenue that I used to create today's card: I hope you have enjoyed this llamazing box card! Thanks for visiting and Happy New Year's Eve! Hi friends! I know that technically today's card says "You are llamazing," but it is actually MY birthday today! So, while you are all pretty llamazing, so am I! Cheers, it's a fiesta! Today I am celebrating my 21st birthday!
For the second time. . . ; ) Card details:
The base of this slimline card ( measuring 8 1/2" x 3 1/2") is made from Black Taffy cardstock. I cut a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and adhered it directly to the black card base. In the upper left corner I stamped the sentiment "You are llamazing" in Black Taffy sugar cube. Using a grassy border die, I die cut the grass from Rich Cactus cardstock. I stamped all of the images from the RG Avenue "Stick Together" stamp set in Black Taffy sugar cube and colored the images with Copic markers. I ran the colored images through my Scan & Cut to cut them out. Then I began adhering the images to the card using foam adhesive for added dimension. I arranged the cacti in a rainbow pattern from red to violet. I added a couple randomly placed rhinestones at the top of the card filling up the white space. Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to all the images for added sparkle.
Thanks for sharing in my birthday celebration here with me. Cheers to many more!
XO, Crystal
Hola, mis amigos! Today we're taking a break from the fall themed cards, just so I can try to appease the readers who maybe aren't yet ready to embrace the fall season. I'm all about keeping everyone happy, which is virtually impossible I know, yet still I try! : ) The next few weeks and months will be a creative blend of fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and, (dare I say?) Christmas, with lots of randomness in between. I like the simplicity of today's card, but I'm bummed that I used the best sentiment on the inside of the card and failed to take a picture of it! So, just pretend you're the recipient of this card and when you open it, you read "Another birthday? No probllama!" And then we laugh and laugh! LOL.
Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies, I cut the first layer from Old Olive cardstock. Next I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" sheet of white cardstock and adhered it directly to the Old Olive scalloped cardstock. I stamped the sentiment at the top of the card in Tuxedo Memento Black ink. I stamped the llama, cactus, sombrero and blanket on a separate sheet of white cardstock in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers. I die cut the images using the coordinating Honey Bee diecuts and adhered them to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the cactus, blanket and sombrero for some subtle sparkle.
Adios amigos! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day!
XO, Crystal
