Stamptember is a month long collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and various stamp companies teaming up together to design and offer fun, exclusive products. It's like a new release day EVERY DAY for the entire month of September! Many of these stamp sets sell out overnight and once they are gone, they can often be hard to find. Today I am happy to be joining the Stamptember celebration representing Whimsy Stamps and their special collaboration with Simon Says Stamp. They have designed an exclusive Stamptember set called "Happy Pugmas." Now you all know that I'm a cat lover, but I have to admit, these Christmas pugs are super cute and festive for all the dog loving friends I have. Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". Slimline cards are designed to fit inside a regular #10 business sized envelope and require no additional postage. The base of this slimline card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. On a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in the colors in Spun Sugar, Barn Door and Twisted Citron. After ink blending the three inks, I then splattered the Barn Door Ink over the entire piece of cardstock. Using the Slimline Postage die, I die cut the frame from pink cardstock. I stamped the pugs in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers. I fussy cut the pugs out and adhered them to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I stamped the sentiments in red ink on white cardstock and die cut them using the Speech Bubbles dies. I adhered the sentiments to the card with 3M foam adhesive. Lastly I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the images for added sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed this fun card featuring the new "Happy Pugmas" Stamptember collaboration with Whimsy Stamps! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of products:

Hello readers and welcome back from the weekend! I hope you found a little time to do something crafty. Today we have a new challenge to share with you at Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge. Challenge #132 is a sketch challenge. Using the sketch shown in the image below, share with us YOUR creations! *I will be taking my first official "vacation" of 2020, and, as such, will also be taking a much needed break from blogging. I will return to regular posting on Monday, September 21st. Be well friends and I'll see you when I return. Halloween is my favorite cardmaking holiday, so I'm all about spooky colors, bat stencils and cute kitties hiding in pumpkins! Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Frames & Flags dies, I cut the scalloped frame from black cardstock. I cut a 5" x 3 3/" piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock to ink blend the distress oxide inks on to create that background. I first ink blended Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink onto the paper and then I laid the Flying Bats stencil on top. I then ink blended Seedless Preserve Distress Oxide ink and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink bats over the background color. I die cut the grass using the Land Borders die and Granny Apple Green cardstock. I stamped the cat and pumpkin image from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black ink on white cardstock and colored it using Copic markers. I die cut the image using the coordinating Newton's Boo-tiful Night dies. I adhered the image to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I cut a thin strip of black cardstock and notched the right end before adhering it to the left side of the card (to fit the sketch image) and I stamped "Happy Halloween" in Memento Black ink on a thin strip of white cardstock to adhere directly below the black strip. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the image for added sparkle. Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Designs online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, September 25, 2020 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the Newton's Nook blog the following Monday. Are you ready to play along and get your paws inky? Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. XO, CrystalList of supplies:Hello and happy Friday! I am sooooo ready for the weekend, it's been one of those weeks and the weekend can't come fast enough! It's another exciting new release day today at Whimsy Stamps and it's all about Halloween! I know I've mentioned it before, but I LOVE Halloween! It is one of my favorite holidays to make cards for, so you'll be seeing lots of spooky inspiration over the next month or two. Today I'm sharing three cards created using the new "Boo" dies combined with Distress Oxide ink backgrounds for an extra spooky sky effect. Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. All three of these A2 sized card are made from a base of Neenah White Solar Smooth cardstock. I cut the window frame using the Arched Window die. This frame was cut from black glitter cardstock. I created a cloud template using the Grass and Cloud Edge die set and acetate sheets. I ink blended distress oxide inks in Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron and Seedless Preserves to create each sky. I blocked off a small white circle with masking tape for the moon. I die cut each of the ghosts from white cardstock and put a small piece of black cardstock behind their eyes and mouth for a shadow effect. I die cut the word "boo" from orange, green and purple glitter cardstock and made my own shadow frame from black cardstock. All ghosts images and the word "boo" were adhered to the card with 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Are you starting to think about making your Halloween cards yet? I promise, getting a good head start now will make you panic much less on October 27th! Have a great weekend! XO, CrystalList of supplies:Hello readers and welcome back from the weekend! I hope you found a little time to do something crafty. Today I am sharing another card that I made for the Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge. Week number two of Challenge #129 is continuing on with this slimline sketch challenge designed to inspire you. Our challenges run for two weeks, thereby giving you more time to create, so I have designed a second card to share with you this week that was still inspired by the same image seen below: Here is the slimline card I created inspired by the sketch: Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2." Slimline cards are designed to fit into a regular #10 business sized envelope and require no additional postage. Newton's Nook is now selling Slimline Envelopes in a variety of colors designed to fit your slimline cards! The base of this card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I created a frame also from white cardstock using the Slimline Portholes Die. I ink blended the background in Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink. I layered the Sunscape Stencil over the yellow sky (to the left) and ink blended Honey Oxide ink to create a sun scene. I die cut the waves from Bermuda Bay cardstock and blue glitter paper using the Shark Bites Die set. Using the Shark Bites stamp set, I stamped three of the sharks in Memento Tuxedo black ink on white cardstock. I colored the sharks using Copic markers and then I die cut them using the coordinating Shark Bites dies. I stamped the waves and schools of fish in Bermuda Bay ink on the die cut wave paper. I adhered the three sharks to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner using Memento Tuxedo black ink. Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along for a chance to win?! We will randomly select one linked entry to receive a $20 store credit to the Newton's Nook Designs online shop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see your creations there! List of supplies:Today I'm taking a break from the slimline cards and sharing two sweet A2 size cards featuring the beautiful "Soul Sisters" stamp set from the July new product release at Whimsy Stamps. Initially I didn't think I would like this stamp set as much as I do, but when I combined it with the Arched Window Die (also from Whimsy Stamps) and a stenciled Distress Oxide ink background, these really came out quite eye catching! Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. Please note, both of these cards were made the same way, simply using different color combinations. The base of these two A2 sized cards were created from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I placed a 4 1/4" x 1 1/2 piece of Early Espresso cardstock as the floor or window seat of the card. I cut the Arched Window die from white cardstock. I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock the same size as the Arched Window to stencil on. First, I ink blended Broken China Distress Oxide ink onto the cardstock. Then I laid the Star Galaxy Stencil on top and added more Distress Oxide ink in Chipped Sapphire. I put the ink blended background behind the white Arched Frame and adhered both to the center of the card. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored them using Copic markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut 2 Electronic Cutting machine to cut the images out (in lieu of fussy cutting them). I adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I stamped the sentiments in Memento Tuxedo black ink on strips of white cardstock and adhered them to the tops and bottoms of each card. I hope you have enjoyed these dreamy cards. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of supplies:We've all heard of unicorns, but today it's all about the fantasy mythical creatures invented by Whimsy Stamps called "Critter Corns!" This fun new stamp set introduces the creative world to it's first pandacorn, bunnycorn and zebracorn! I have created a slimline card with a rainbow cloud background to really give these whimsical critters a dreamy home. Card details:*A full supply list is located at the end of this post. The base of this slimline card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I die cut the frame from white cardstock using the Slimline Waves die. I set this frame aside for now to create the rainbow background. On an 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, I ink blended the background in rainbow colors using Distress Oxide inks in the colors: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Broken China and Wilted Violet. I still use the Tim Holtz ink blending tool to blend my inks. Then I spritzed the entire paper with water to create the "splotches." I also took a Uniball white gel pen and created a couple stars or crosses to create reflection in the sky. I stamped the crittercorn images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers and then used my Brother Scan and Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut them out (in lieu of fussy cutting). I adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I added a couple white die cut clouds from the "Up in the Clouds" die set to the scene and stamped a sentiment in Memento Tuxedo black ink on each cloud. Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the critters for added sparkle. To see more of the latest releases from Whimsy Stamps, please click here. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalList of supplies:Hello and happy Monday (again)! I had two cards that were due today, so you get a double dose of cuteness between both cards! I seem to be on a slimline cardmaking kit lately, so here is another one for you today using the fun "Little Mermaid" stamp set from Richard Garay Designs! The "Little Mermaid" stamp set is part of this month's RG Card Club kit subscription! Please see additional details below. Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". Slimline cards are designed to fit into a regular #10 business sized envelope and require no additional postage. The base of this slimline card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Bristol smooth cardstock, I created the background scene using Distress Oxide inks in the colors Broken China and Antique Linen. After I had the two colors sponged onto the paper, I layed a sunray stencil over the top blue ink and inked another, darker layer of Broken China to create rays in the water to show depth in my scene. I printed out the digital "Little Mermaid" stamp set onto Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock and colored the images using Copic markers. After all of the images were colored, I used my Brother Scan and Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut the images (rather than fussy cutting them). After the images were cut out began to assemble them onto the card using 3M foam adhesive for additional dimension. I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to many of the images for more sparkle. Lastly, I added a couple of clear rhinestones from one of the mermaids and fish to resemble bubbles. I hope your week is going good so far. Today I'm sharing a slimline card featuring the new "Sweet Succulents" stamp set from Whimsy Stamps. Slimline Sweet Succulents, say that three times fast!! : ) Can I just say how much I love the Distressed Oxide ink background on this card? I think it completely makes the entire card, with it's ombre of colors from yellow to green to blue. Now that I am becoming more comfortable using my Distress Oxide inks, I am quite enjoying them! Card details: *A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". Slimline cards are designed to fit into a regular #10 business size envelope and do not require additional postage. The base of this slimline card is a piece of Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I then cut a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock to create the background. I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Shabby Shutters and Broken China. I splattered the background with those same ink colors. Using a piece of white cardstock, I die cut the frame using the Whimsy Stamps Postage Slimline die. On a separate sheet of white cardstock, I stamped the cactus/succulent image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut the images using my Brother Scan and Cut 2 Electronic Cutting machine. I colored the images using Copic markers and adhered them to the card using 3M foam adhesive. On a sheet of Basic Black cardstock, I stamped the sentimenti in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I notched the left side of the sentiment strip and adhered it to the card also using 3M foam adhesive. Lastly, I added a coat of Clear Wink of Stella to the succulent images and pots for added sparkle. Thank you for visiting! If you would like to see a vast array of cards, you can always view my online gallery HERE. XO, CrystalList of products:Today's card incorporates all the fun and tasty things about summer - ice cream trucks and lemonade stands! I haven't been sharing a lot of cutesy themed cards lately, but don't think I've strayed too far! I do love them, I just want to ensure a healthy balance of designs on my website, so that there is hopefully something that appeals to everyone - from intricate layering dies and floral designs to shaker cards, digital stamps and more! Card details:This slimline cards measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" inches. Slimline cards are designed to fit inside a regular #10 business sized envelope without requiring additional postage. The base of this slimline card is made from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. For the background of this card, I cut a 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Bristol smooth cardstock. I ink blended Distress Oxide inks in the colors Squeezed Lemonade, Pumpkin Pie and Picked Raspberry. After the colors were all blended, I spritzed the paper with water to give it all those little bubbles and watermarks. I also die cut a long strip of grass from the same cardstock and mounted it to the bottom of the card. I stamped all of the images in Memento Tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers and used my Scan and Cut 2 electronic cutting machine to cut each image out (in lieu of fussy cutting). I adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to many of the images for more sparkle. Here are the two stamp sets by Avery Elle that I used to create today's card: I hope you have enjoyed this sweet card! Thanks for visiting! XO, CrystalHello readers and happy Thursday! I'm happy to be sharing in the latest June release of products from Whimsy Stamps and I have a really fun and colorful card to share with you using the new "Peeking Giraffe" stamp set and coordinating giraffe stencil. I was so excited with how this whimsical this background came out! As I begin to branch out and try to do more experimenting with Distress Oxide inks, I'm finding that I really am enjoying using them! Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Whimsy Giraffe stencil, I stenciled Distress Oxide Inks in Lemonade, Honey, Evergreen and Broken China on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I mounted this stenciled background onto a piece of kraft cardstock before adhering both pieces to the white cardstock base. I stamped the giraffe in Memento Tuxedo black ink on a die cut circle of white cardstock. I colored the giraffe using Copic markers. I mounted the white cardstock circle onto a scalloped piece of kraft cardstock. I cut a piece of grass from Green Apple cardstock using the Grass and Edger die set. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink on a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
