Hi friends and TGIF! Today I would like to share some very exciting news with you! Yesterday on my blog, I shared this fun gingerbread card featuring products from Whimsy Stamps, but, what I wasn't able to tell you is that back in late November I was invited to join the Creative Team at Whimsy Stamps. Yesterday was the official company announcement and new design team release! I'm delighted to be on a list among those I have long admired and respected in the crafting industry and I look forward to sharing some new products with you. Hello there Whimsy Fans, it is with great pleasure that we get to introduce to you today, several wonderfully talented, new designers to our already amazing Creative Team and Paper Door Team. Each one of these lovely ladies has diverse and unique stamping styles that are sure to inspire you as much as they inspires us. Below is a short bio from each of our new designers, with links to their blogs. Be sure to follow each one of them so you don't miss any of their Whimsy Stamps projects. They're already fast at work on creative projects to share with you and will be kicking off the new year with our first release of 2020 on January 1st. Please join me in giving a warm Whimsy welcome to: Hi, I'm Crystal! I live in Western Massachusetts with my husband and three rescue cats. When I'm not working or making cards, I love to cook - well let's be honest, I mostly bake! Give me all the desserts! I also enjoy traveling, yoga and reading celebrity tabloid magazines (my dirty little secret!) My craft room is truly my happy place. I began teaching classes in my home studio and in my community about seven years ago to share my passion with others. It gives me great joy knowing that I have inspired someone be it in a class or by sharing a card I created online. I look forward to sharing all of my Whimsy Stamps creations with YOU! Hi, I'm Lisa! I live in the Fayettevile/Ft. Bragg area in NC with my husband, Aaron, of nearly 20 years. We are a retired Army family who has settled into a simple life together. I volunteer as the secretary/ website manager for a non-profit organization, Warriors On the Water. I started making handmade cards back in 2010, and I've recently started creating YouTube Tutorials, regularly. I don't have a "style" when it comes to cardmaking; I want to try it all. I do enjoy other crafts, as well. Cake decorating and DIY home projects are the first things that come to mind other than papercrafting. When I'm not busy creating handmade cards and videos, I love binge-watching period dramas, playing video games, and going to Walt Disney World. I'm so excited to be joining the Whimsy Stamps Design Team. I look forward to, hopefully, getting to know you all and building more crafty friendships. Hello! My name is Lori U'ren and I'm from Baton Rouge, La. I'm married and we have four grown children, four grandchildren, and four fur babies. I've enjoyed crafts since I was young, in fact I made my very first card for a friend’s birthday at eight years old on a sheet of paper with pencil colors. But I really discovered card making ten years ago and copic coloring a few years ago, and the combination had me hooked right away. I really enjoy creating scene cards. I'm very excited to be a part of the Whimsy Stamps team and I'm thankful for the opportunity. Hello there! Michelle Bala here! I am a craft addict and card junkie! I'm a mom of three. My husband and kids are my biggest fans! I started card making in 2010 when I started my blog and have loved every minute. There is something so incredible about coloring a black and white stamped image and bringing it to life, and Whimsy Stamps has so many stamps! I'm so excited to be part of the Whimsy Stamps design team! Hope you enjoy all that I create! Hello everyone! This is Tricia Barber. I am really excited to be a part of the Whimsy Stamps Creative Team. I have been a crafter all my life and fell into stamping and card making about 8 years ago and absolutely love it! I gravitate to bright and bold colors, so it is super hard for me to make clean and simple cards. I love coloring images and Copic’s are my go to coloring medium, but I also like to experiment with other things and try to stretch myself out of my comfort zone. When I am crafting I will either binge watch a series on Netflix or play my Spotify list. My husband tells me I have the best singing voice when I am crafting! I look forward to sharing some inspiration with you and thank you for the opportunity Hi my crafty friends, I’m Jamie Martin, an avid stamper who loves being creative and making pretty things. I started stamping when my kids were tiny and I was a stay-at-home mom, it was my way of relaxing after a fun-filled day with the little ones. Since I’ve started stamping I’ve been on various Design Teams for 13 years, taught classes at stamp stores for 12 years and have had a stamp club that meets at my house twice a month for the past 7 years. I’m lucky to have a wonderful husband who has always supported my stamping addiction and has never said that I have too much crafting stuff! Hi- I am Katie Brooks. I am a silly, bigfoot loving, coffee drinking, crafty chick with a darling tweenager and wonderful husband. I also work full time in HR. I have been crafting for a long time using lots of different mediums. I really love to make cards using cute products, where I can color and set up scenes...enter Whimsy Stamps! Happy to be part of this team! Hello there! My name is Kimberly Wiener and I have lived in Washington State my entire life and I'm so happy to call the Pacific Northwest my home. I started my blog in '08 to celebrate getting married. It eventually turned into my crafty outlet with crafts, mini scrapbooking albums, and then mostly cardmaking!
I am thankful to have met so many wonderfully encouraging artists and supportive crafters here. There are so many of you out there that I have met at challenges, on design teams, CHA, or craft companies along the way that I consider my friend!! I am very excited to share my creations with you as I design for Whimsy Stamps exclusive Paper Door Kits!

Hello crafty friends! (I say "friends" because I really do believe in the age old adage, "strangers are friends you've yet to meet.") Today I'm happy to be writing my first post as one of the newest Design Team members for the fall/winter 2019 term for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I'm very grateful to Vanessa for selecting me to join her amazing group of talented crafters and to help spread the word about her local store. Cheers to strong and independent women business owners and to shopping local!
I chose to use the Newton's Thanksgiving by Newton's Nook to create my "debut card." Mainly because this card is all about cats and carbs, which pretty much sums up my life! We have three rescue cats who dominate our house (we have no children!) and I'm a carb girl all the way, hello breads and pastries, so, all things created by Newton's Nook really make me happy. Card details:
The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. The first 5 1/4" x 4" layer is a sheet of paper from the Echo Park Fall Paper Pack (similar). I used the Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and cut a circle from a scrap piece of kraft plaid paper. I cut off the bottom of the circle to make a half circle. I stamped the sentiment in the upper right corner of this half circle in a dark brown ink. I adhered this directly to the center of the card using a Tombow Adhesive Dots Runner - these are THE BEST in my opinion!
I stamped all of the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (another personal favorite of mine!) on white cardstock and used the coordinatingNewton's Thanksgiving dies to cut the images out. I colored the images with alcohol ink markers and then I always use a White Gelly Roll pen to add highlights to my colored images. Try it - it's a little insider's secret to adding detail and dimension!
I added a piece of burlap tape to the bottom of the half-circle and began to adhere my colored images to the card. I often use foam adhesive when adding images to a card to add depth to my scenes.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my first card for the Design Team! Be sure to follow along on my Instagram too! Thanks for taking the time to visit today and for joining me on my DT journey with Vanessa and Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I look forward to sharing more of my creations with you and I hope you leave here feeling creative and inspired!
XO, Crystal

Hello readers and welcome back from a long, holiday weekend! I have an exciting announcement to share with you today. . . I have been selected to join the amazing Design Team at Butterfly Reflections, Ink. for the fall/winter 2019 term. I've known for a few short weeks now, but had to keep it quiet until the store announced it earlier today on their blog. Butterfly Reflections, Ink. is a small woman-owned and operated craft store that opened just over a year ago in May of 2018 in Kingston, New Hampshire. While I have yet to visit the store in person (my mom and I are planning a road trip on Black Friday!) I am delighted to be joining Vanessa's team of amazing designers and fellow artisan's. If you live in southern Maine or New Hampshire, or Eastern Massachusetts, please consider visiting. Butterfly Reflections, Ink. (BRI) carries SO many products online too, including the newest releases from fan favorites such as Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things, Newton's Nook and many, many more! But, even better, because the store is located so close to me in New England, it only takes 2 days for shipping! No more waiting! Now, I'll introduce you to a few other talented ladies who will be joining along on this DT journey with me for BRI: First up we have Tiffany Beuning. Tiffany is from Las Vegas, is a high school counselor and is married to a great guy who supports her craft habit. Next up we have Jane! Jane is a working professional by day and a crafter by night. hehe She lives in Southern California with her husband, 19 month old daughter and her 2 year old Westie (aka her first child). Next up, we have Amanda Willett. Amanda is from Kentucky and just 25 years old! Her grandmother used to work for American Greetings and after some time of giving/receiving the same cards, she got into cardmaking. Candice Fisher is last, but certainly not least! She is an active mother of three (21, 18 and 16) and two of them are now in college. She is lucky to have an understanding hubby who supports her love of all things crafty, especially cardmaking. She's also been scrapping for 16 years and used to work for Archiver's as a class instructor. On Wednesday I will be sharing the first card I created for the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. Design Team, but I hope in the meantime you will check out the BRI store online HERE and be sure to follow Vanessa Middleton on Facebook and Instagram. Let's help these small, independent and local stores stay in business by showing our support! XO, Crystal |
