Hello and happy Monday! I hope you are all enjoying a nice long three day holiday weekend! It was quite unseasonably cold (and wet) here in Massachusetts, so there was some unplanned time spent in my craft room which was a happy bonus! Today I'm happy to announced that I have joined the Joy Clair Design Team under the ownership of Martha Lucia Gomez, who I had previously known from the 88 and Clear Design Team that we were on together. I couldn't be more excited for her and that she followed her dream of operating a stamp business and I'm happy to support her by designing with her beautiful stamps and products. Floral images are among my favorites when it comes to stamping and today I'm sharing my first design using the Spring Rose digital stamp set from the most recent "Ray of Sunshine" release. Card details:*A full list of supplies is located at the end of this post. This A2 sized card is made from a base of 80 lb. Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock. Using the Lawn Fawn quilted die, I die cut the background also from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I printed one of the roses from the Spring Rose stamp set using an inkjet printer onto Neenah white cardstock. I colored the image with Copic markers using Y04, Y06 and Y08 for the flower bloom and YG11 and YG 13 for the stem and leaves. I fussy cut the flower and then adhered it to the white quilted background using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I printed the sentiment "today is your day" from the same Spring Rose digital stamp set. I notched the left edge of the sentiment before adhering the sentiment strip over the rose. I always add a little extra dimension with small white dots from a Uniball White Gel pen. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the flower for added sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed my first card for the Joy Clair Design Team! You can always find me on my website, Facebook or Instagram! Thank you for visiting and happy crafting! Hello friends and happy Friday! Yay for long holiday weekends and to the official start (hopefully) of a MUCH better looking summer than 2020! Today I am sharing a slimline card created using two brand new digital stamp sets from 88 and Clear. Both the "Love Sent" and "Strong Enough" digital stamp sets will be released and available for purchase in early June. So, I hope you enjoy this special sneak peek! Card details:This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2." The base is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using a piece of patterned yellow miscellaneous paper, I die cut the first mat to 8 1/4" x 3 1/4." I printed out the images from both the "Love Sent" and "Strong Enough" digital stamp sets on Neenah White cardstock. I used Copic markers to color the images and then fussy cut them by hand. I die cut three scalloped circles from white cardstock and placed them vertically down the center of the card. I adhered the flowers to the left or right side of the scalloped circles using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I added the butterflies over the flowers. I printed the sentiment on a thin strip of white cardstock and angled the left edge before adhering it to the lower half of the card. I added a couple randomly placed black rhinestones on the card. Lastly, I added a coat of Dazzling Pat to the images for added sparkle. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative extra-long weekend! XO, CrystalList of supplies:You might also enjoy:I couldn't be more excited to share with you that I just released my "Photography for Cardmakers" video on YouTube!! This project has been a work of love and passion (and admittedly, stress too) for the past few weeks. I wanted to create the kind of video tutorial specifically designed for cardmakers (and scrapbookers) that I WISH I had had when I was beginning a website and (trying) to photograph my cards. So, I hope this video does just that for you! So, check it out! Like it (or not - numbers don't matter to me), but more importantly, share the knowledge and the video with others. Please tag me @crystalkomara if you take "before" and "after" photos of YOUR cards using something you learned from my video. There is no greater measure of success to me than knowing I have helped another. Enjoy and thanks for watching! XO, CrystalThere are still a few days left to join the Waffle Flower "Travel Around the World" card challenge this week on the Waffle Flower challenge blog. My brother and his family currently live on Okinawa and this stamp set has been one of their favorites when I send them cards. Card details:The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Waffle Flower Hearts Panel die, I die cut the frame from white cardstock. I lined the back of the hearts frame with a pre-made alcohol ink background in a variety of pink inks. I lined the bottom of the hearts panel die with black cardstock, just to add some contrast. I stamped the images from the Konnichiwa stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah white cardstock and I die cut the images using the coordinating Konnichiwa dies. I colored the images with Copic markers and adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I stamped the sentiment on a thin strip of white cardstock, notched the left edge and adhered the sentiment to the lower right side of the card. I'm excited to be joining Waffle Flower this week as a guest designer for their travel themed weekly challenge. I selected this theme because I really like a few of the Waffle Flower travel stamps like From Russia with Love, Prost Germany and the stamp set I am using today called Hola Mexico. Card details:*A full list of supplies (with links) is located at the bottom of this post. This slimline card measure 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". The card base is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I cut a piece of Doll Pink cardstock measuring 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" as the first mat. Using the Waffle Flower hexagon dies, I cut three holes in the center of piece of white cardstock. I lined the back of the hexagon shaped holes with some lime green watercolor paper from the Watercolor Wishes Paper Pack from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the images from the Hola Mexico stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and colored the images using Copic markers. I die cut all the images with the coordinating Hola Mexico dies. I adhered the images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. XO, CrystalList of supplies:I have a really funny story to share with you about today's card. I had this card sitting on my craft desk waiting to be photographed and my husband walks into the room and says, "Who's Rich?" I look at him all confused. "Who is Rich?" he asks again. Blank stare. Clearly, I am not following. So, he proceeds to hold up this card to which I respond, "No, rich beyond measure." It's a figure of speech. Now he's the one who looks confused. Then he questioned why "Rich" was in capitalized bold font and not feeling the need to explain my card, I had to kick him out of my craft room because he was beginning to stress me out! Card details:This A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using a piece of Black Taffy cardstock, I heat embossed the Leafy Wall background stamp from 88 and Clear with black embossing powder. I adhered this embossed background directly to the card base. Using the Rich Love digital stamp set from 88 and Clear, I printed the images onto the same 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock and colored the images with Copic markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut 2 e-cutting machine to cut the images, in lieu of fussy cutting. I adhered the cut images to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. The sentiments were already printed in black toner ink from the digital file, so I simply cut them to size to fit in the top upper righthand corner of the card. Lastly, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. You can really see in the below photo how that black heat embossed background shines in the light: Here is the Rich Love stamp set by 88 and Clear that I used to create today's card: The Rich Love stamp set is part of the the monthly Card Club Subscription with 88 and Clear. The weather was absolutely beautiful here for the first time really this spring, so in between crafty projects, I was able to spend some time outside. Today I am sharing a floral card using the "Big Happy" digital stamp set from 88 and Clear. I must be on a floral kick right now, because after looking at my recent posts and seeing what I have to photograph for upcoming posts, you are going to be seeing a LOT of flowery cards! Card details:The base of this A2 sized and is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Using the Reverse Confetti Diagonal Stripes Cover Panel, I die cut this striped background die from white cardstock. I colored the Big Happy digital stamp set from 88 and Clear using Copic markers and I fussy cut the large image out. I adhered the bouquet to the center of the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and adhered the sentiment to the lower left side of the card. Lastly, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for added sparkle. I hope you have enjoyed this sherbet colored card! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalYou might also enjoy:Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today I am on the Birch Press Design blog sharing two cards using the Torus Ring Die in monochromatic colors to create some cheerful greeting cards. I'll admit that I didn't love this geometric shaped die initially, but after creating these cards, I'm now giving it a second chance! For this first card, I used the Ocean Blues Paper Pack and Twinkling Jewel paper pack to create a monochromatic blue color palette. The base of this A2 sized card is made from 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I die cut just Layer Plate A from the Viola Layering Plates out of white cardstock and adhered it directly to my card base using Lineco ph bookbinding glue, my go-to liquid adhesive. I die cue the Torus Ring outline from white cardstock. Using the second small die in the Torus Ring set, I die cut various pieces of blue paper that I adhered behind the white frame. I adhered the entire Torus Ring to the card with 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. For the sentiment I used the Big Hello Sugar Script die. This is a two-piece layering word die that creates a shadowlike effect. I die cut the large base layer from white cardstock and the top layer from blue cardstock. I adhered both layers together with liquid glue and then adhered the entire sentiment to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I added the word "hello friend" from the Ticker Tape stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and fussy cut the block outline. I adhered this sentiment below the word "hello" with 3M foam adhesive. For the second card, I used all of the same steps as the first, but I changed my colors to a pink monochromatic look using the Berry Red Paper Pack and the Graceful Garden Glitter Pad. I die cut the Torus Ring outline from white cardstock. Using the second small die in the Torus Ring set, I die cut various pieces of pink paper that I adhered behind the white frame. I adhered the entire Torus Ring to the card with 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. For the sentiment I used the Big Hugs Sugar Script die. I die cut the large base layer from white cardstock and the top layer from pink cardstock. I adhered both layers together with liquid glue and then adhered the entire sentiment to the card using 3M foam adhesive. I added the word "thank you" from the Ticker Tape stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in pink ink and fussy cut the block outline. I adhered this sentiment below the word "hello" with 3M foam adhesive. I hope you have enjoyed today's cards and hopefully I have inspired you to step outside of your comfort zone, because that's when amazing things can happen! Thank you for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, CrystalHello friends and happy Monday, I hope you all had a nice weekend! I spent a good amount of time in my craft room because I had a lot of deadlines to meet. In fact, I'm going to take Monday off from work to try and get ahead on some of those deadlines and take a little stress off myself. I also tried to do a Facebook "live" on Sunday, but I seemed to be having every technical difficulty known to man, so I"ll have to reschedule that for another afternoon.
Today's beautiful card combines two products from 88 and Clear. I have used last month's FREE digital stamp called "Floral Background" combined with the "Just Wings" rubber stamp set. Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed a pleasant weekend and hopefully found a little time to do something crafty. Today I am sharing two rainbow themed cards using a variety of products from Birch Press Design. I just love creating with rainbow colors because the end result is always happiness. For this first card, I used Layer A of the Lumina Layering Plates. I already had a pre-made rainbow colored alcohol ink background in my stash, so this card came together quite quickly. Gotta love that! I simply adhered the rainbow alcohol ink background to my card base - I use 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. Then I die cut Layer A of the Lumina Layering Plates from white cardstock. I adhered the intricate die over the alcohol ink background. I die cut the word Hello using the Big Hello dies. I die cut the shadow background from black cardstock and the top thinner layer from white cardstock. I adhered both layers together with a Tombow Dot Runner and then I adhered both layers to the card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Using the Ticker Tape stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy cut the sentiment strip out. I adhered the sentiment below the "hello" dies using 3M foam adhesive. For this next card, I used the Linear Triangle die and lots of colored cardstock strips in various bright colors to keep in line with my rainbow theme. My card base is 80 lb. Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock. I also die cut the first 5 1/4" x 4" mat from white cardstock. I die cut the Linear Triangle from white cardstock and adhered thin strips of colored paper behind the lines. I placed the completed triangle in the lower righthand corner of my card. I die cut the large "thanks" die from black cardstock and from a piece of pre-made alcohol ink cardstock. I layered the two together with a Tombow Dot Runner and placed the large sentiment in the center of my card using 3M foam adhesive for added dimension. Using the Ticker Tape stamp set, I stamped the sentiment "you inspired kindness" in Versamark ink on black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I fussy cut this sentiment and adhered it below the large "thanks" using 3M foam adhesive. I hope you have enjoyed today's cards and they will bring some cheerfulness to the start of the week. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully creative day! XO, Crystal |
